Suspicion (1944)
The story is based in Hammersmith in London. Edward Mummery leads a very ordinary life and considers himself an ordinary person until suddenly in to his life explodes the extraordinary. He has been married to his wife Ethel for six years and he considers her the most brilliant thing that has ever happened to him but now she is very unwell. In a railway carriage on his way to his office he feels unexplainably nauseous and breathless. Then he hears from a fellow passenger that the police are still looking for a woman who poisoned a family in Lincoln. He begins to suspect that his housekeeper is trying to kill them.
