Three Blind Mice (1947)
Sam Bentley and Dick Walsh are partners with Arthur Lockwood in business but Lockwood cannot stand the other two and wishes they were both dead. When he goes to the office that night to check something out he discovers that Sam in his office chair shot dead his wrist watch had stopped at five after eight. He also discovers a letter on his desk addressed to Richard Walsh proving that his partners had planned to double cross him. He looked at the time on the broken wristwatch. An hour later he would be home in his bed knowing that Dick Walsh too was going to die.
